Marker Types
HemoVision enables you to document and analyse bloodstains in complex environments using just photographs. To do this, HemoVision relies on special markers that are placed on the crime scene. HemoVision uses two types of marker: detail markers and overview markers.
Detail Marker
The smaller detail marker is used to indicate regions of interest. They are placed on flat surfaces in regions that you wish to photograph in close-up. These close-ups will provide sufficient resolution when analysing bloodstains.
Each detail marker has a number on the bottom right side, which is referred to as the marker ID. Typically, you will use many detail markers within a single scene, making sure that each marker has a unique ID.
Overview Marker
The larger overview marker is used to determine position of the scene in the world coordinate space. To this end, it has a reference point (cross) on the top left. By default, the origin of the world coordinate space runs through this reference point, as illustrated in the figure below. In the marker placement sections, you will learn how you can change the position of this origin. One overview marker is used per zone that is documented.
