PROJECT BROWSER

The Project Browser displays an overview of your entire project. All objects in the project are organized either in a nested structure or grouped by type (see View modes below).

Browser View Modes

At the top of the Project Browser is a dropdown menu that controls how objects are displayed. There are two available view modes:

View Mode Description
Hierarchical Displays objects using their parent–child relationships.
Grouped Displays objects grouped by object type.

Hierarchical View

All objects in the project are organized in a nested structure that reflects their parent–child relationships. This structure helps you understand how objects relate to each other within the scene.

Grouped View

All objects are grouped according to their type. The grouped mode is useful when you want to quickly locate all objects of a specific type, such as all stains in the project.

Using the checkboxes next to type titles allows you to set the visibility of all objects of that type at the same type. This is convenient when you want to hide all objects of a certain type.

(Un)folding Objects

Objects that contain child objects can be expanded or collapsed using the small arrows next to the object name. This allows you to focus only on the parts of the project you are currently working with.

You can also fold or unfold entire sections of the project by right-clicking an object and selecting:

  • Fold subtree
  • Unfold subtree

These actions apply recursively to all objects within that subtree.

Visibility Control

Many objects can be shown or hidden in the 2D view or 3D view.

Objects that support visibility control display an eye icon next to their name. Clicking the icon toggles the visibility of that object.

Locking Objects

Certain objects can be locked so that their transform can not be changed in the 3D view.

Objects that support locking control display an lock icon next to their name. Clicking the icon toggles the lock-state of that object.

Renaming Objects

Some objects have user-editable names. These can be changed directly inside the Project Browser, without having to go to the Property Inspector.

To rename an object:

  1. Double-click the object name.
  2. Edit the name.
  3. Press Enter or click elsewhere to confirm.

Docking Behavior

The Project Browser:

  • Can be docked on the left or right side of the screen
  • Can be closed
  • Can be reopened from: Tools > Project Browser
  • Must remain docked.
